Zac Meakin joins Greenlight Sports Management

Another young rising star Zac Meakin joins Greenlight Sports Management’s growing roster of talent.

15-year-old Zac will be joining Preptech UK to contest the Ginetta Junior Championship again for the 2022 season, following a successful rookie season with Yorkshire-based Raceway Motorsport last year.

The teenager’s motorsport journey began indoor karting, aged seven before he progressed quickly through the indoor karting academy scene.

After just six months, Zac advanced to outdoor karting, racing and testing at the UK’s largest outdoor karting track, Circuit Pfi. He excelled through the Cadet and Junior karting ranks of British, European and International championships from 2014 to 2019.

The Leeds-based racer’s two successful kart seasons in 2018 and ’19 culminated in a successful selection process to represent team GB at the European Karting Juniors at Le Mans and a fourth-place overall in the Little Green Man British series in 2019. A switch to cars for extensive testing and completion of his ARDS test in 2020 ensured his debut in competitive racing in the Ginetta Junior Series in 2021 was a smooth transition.

Now joining Greenlight Sports Management (GSM), the youngster will be moving onto the next chapter of his motorsport journey as Director Guy Smith and Andy Meyrick support his long-term plan to become a pro racing driver.

GSM Director Guy Smith said: “We are delighted to have Zac as part of the Greenlight Sports Management team. We watched Zac last year in the Ginetta Junior Championship, and it was exciting to see his progress and become a front runner by the end of the season. Zac came highly recommended by Ben Barnicoat, who had worked closely with him in karting,

Undoubtedly, his progress will continue to develop so that he can be a contender for this year’s Ginetta Junior season.”

Zac Meakin said “I’m super excited to join Greenlight Sports Management. I’m sure that I will achieve my racing goals with such an experienced team behind me. I am looking forward to working with them this season.”
