Racing Point Formula One Team was formed in August 2018 when a consortium of investors led by Lawrence Stroll, purchased the assets of the then-existing Sahara Force India F1 team.
The team was renamed in February 2019 as Racing Point F1 Team and will compete in the 2019 season branded as “SportPesa Racing Point F1”.
