The two-day driver training and team-building camp was run from 10 to 11 August and featured physical training, educational sessions and technical assessments.
Created by Boomerang Pro Fitness specifically for GSM, the two days incorporated fitness challenges covering cycling, climbing, running and circuit training, as well as assessments and a driving challenge in the Base Performance Simulators sim. Education sessions were also included with top-level sports nutritionists and sports psychologists designed to support the drivers on and off the track. The camp successfully increased levels of understanding with a holistic approach to race preparation and provided some much needed social and team-building time.
Dedicated to managing and supporting both GSM Directors Guy Smith and Andy Meyrick were in attendance, providing insight and assistance (as well as some additional competition) across the two days.
The camp was a huge success, and the GSM team are already planning the next one!
